Part scrap book, part journal, part grimoire the seasonal journal is A beautiful, pen-to-paper space for noticing what is happening in nature, what is happening within you, and the relationship between the two.
There is so much happening around us all the time that it can be surprisingly easy to move through the year without really noticing the subtle changes taking place around us, or recognising how much those changes might actually be influencing the way we feel, think, move and live.
The light gradually shifts as the year moves forwards, the weather changes, plants emerge and flower before eventually beginning to fade, birds arrive and leave, the landscape transforms around us, and the Moon continually moves through her own cycle.
And somewhere alongside all of this, often without us really noticing, our own energy, mood, appetite, creativity, sleep, motivation and capacity can be changing too.
Yet we live in a world that asks us to be remarkably consistent, expecting us to keep showing up in much the same way throughout the year regardless of what is happening around us, and it is very easy to interpret our natural fluctuations as something that needs fixing rather than something that might simply be worth paying attention to.
seasonal journal
A space to slow down, pay attention, discover your own rhythm, and find joy through the seasons
The Seasonal Journal is an invitation to start noticing.
It is a pen-to-paper space for observing what is happening in nature, what is happening within you, and the relationship between the two, giving you somewhere to record the little details of your weeks, explore your energy and body rhythms, follow the changing seasons and Moon phases, and create a personal record of the year as you actually experience it.
It isn't another planner to keep up with, another wellbeing routine to get right or another workbook full of things you need to complete.
Instead, it is somewhere to pause each week, look a little more closely at the world around you and give yourself the space to notice what is changing.
A space to come back to week after week
The art of noticing
Perhaps you've already noticed that you don't feel exactly the same throughout the year, but you've never really stopped to think about the patterns behind those changes.
Or perhaps you have no idea what your patterns are yet, because you've simply never given yourself the opportunity to observe them closely enough to find out.
When you give yourself somewhere to record these little observations week after week, the things that once seemed random or insignificant can begin to form a bigger picture, allowing you to see patterns that are almost impossible to recognise when you are simply moving through each day and immediately moving on to the next.
You might discover something about your energy that you had never consciously recognised.
You might notice how your body responds to the changing seasons.
You might begin to see connections between your mood and the Moon.
You might realise that something you have always considered inconsistency is actually part of a recurring rhythm.
And you might simply become more present to the ordinary beauty of the life you are already living, finding more joy in the small seasonal details that can so easily pass unnoticed.
The Seasonal Journal is designed to be filled in one week at a time, creating a gentle rhythm that encourages you to return to the page regularly without turning journaling into another obligation competing for your attention.
Each week gives you space to explore different aspects of your experience, including:
Your energy
Notice how your energy has felt throughout the week, where it has naturally risen and fallen, what has supported you and whether you are beginning to recognise any recurring patterns.
Your body
Pay attention to the quieter messages your body is giving you through your appetite, sleep, movement, rest, mood and the things you are naturally drawn towards, rather than immediately dismissing those changes as inconvenient.
The seasons
Record what is happening outside your window, from the changing light and weather to the plants, animals and small seasonal details you might otherwise walk straight past without noticing.
The Moon
Notice where we are in the lunar cycle and begin exploring your own relationship with the different phases, without needing to decide that you should feel a particular way during any of them.
Your week
Write, reflect, scribble, draw, scrapbook or simply record the little things that have made up your life this week, giving yourself somewhere to capture the details that might otherwise disappear into the blur of everyday life.
Your observations
And because life doesn't always fit neatly into categories, there is space for the things that don't belong anywhere else — the thoughts, moments, discoveries and little pieces of life that you simply want to remember.
If you already have the Aligned Planner, you'll know that it is designed to help you organise your life around the changing seasons, giving you a framework for planning your months, weeks and days in a way that works with your energy rather than constantly asking you to work against it.
The Seasonal Journal is different.
The planner helps you plan with the seasons.
The journal helps you notice your seasons.
Rather than opening the journal to decide what you need to accomplish this week, you open it to reflect on the week you've just lived and pay attention to what was happening around you and within you.
(not a planner)
I think there is something rather lovely about allowing the pages to reflect the reality of your life rather than trying to make them look like the perfectly curated journal spreads you see elsewhere.
The structure is there to help you notice, but what you do with it is entirely yours,
Because the value isn't in creating a perfect journal. It's in creating a record of oyur year, a keepsake......
Imagine reaching the end of the year and opening your journal, not to find a perfect record of everything you've achieved, but a collection of all the small details that made up your actual life.
The things you were thinking about.
The things that brought you joy.
The little moments that would otherwise have disappeared into the everydayness of life.
And perhaps, most importantly, you can begin to see your own patterns.
IOne of the things I wanted most when creating the Seasonal Journal was to bring back some of the tactile, creative pleasure of putting pen to paper and collecting the little details of your life in a way that feels much more personal than simply recording them digitally.
There is something different about physically writing something down, about seeing your own handwriting appear on the page, and about collecting little fragments of your everyday life and bringing them together in one place.
So alongside the journaling and reflection, there is space to sketch, scrapbook, doodle, stick things in, add photographs, collect words and make the pages your own.
You can make it messy or beautiful, fill it with words or leave plenty of white space, use it as a place for thoughtful reflection or simply record the tiny things you want to remember.
There is no aesthetic you need to achieve and no right way for your journal to look.
The Seasonal Journal is for you if…
A beautiful place to start your seasonal practice
You want to feel more connected to the changing seasons without needing to completely change the way you live, because sometimes simply noticing where you are in the year can be enough to create a greater sense of connection.
You are curious about your own energy and body rhythms and want somewhere to begin observing them without turning your life into another tracking project.
You love journaling, scrapbooking or putting pen to paper and want something with a little more seasonal structure while still having plenty of freedom to make it your own.
You want to explore your relationship with the Moon in a personal and observational way rather than following a prescribed interpretation of how you are supposed to feel during each phase.
You often feel like the weeks blur together and would love a way to slow down enough to remember the small details that make up your everyday life.
You want to understand yourself rather than constantly trying to improve yourself, creating space for curiosity rather than another list of things to fix.
Or perhaps you simply like the idea of having somewhere beautiful and tangible to record the year as it unfolds, collecting the little pieces of your life as you go.

A weekly pen-to-paper journal for noticing the seasons, tracking your energy, exploring your body's rhythms, observing the Moon and collecting the little details of everyday life.
