5 Things to Think About Before Planning Your Week

Is the way you plan and execute your time during the week the very thing that’s causing your fatigue + overwhelm?

If the way you currently plan your days, weeks, and months leaves you feeling drained, if you’ve been struggling with your focus and productivity, feeling uncreative, drained, and overwhelmed or constantly getting sick and burnt out then maybe it’s time to look at the way you plan your time?

Our bodies are n̲o̲t̲ meant to work at the same pace every day. If your energy and focus fluctuate every single day, then that is completely normal and natural.

Women’s bodies, our energy, focus, strengths, and abilities all ebb and flow in alignment with our menstrual cycle and hormone changes. That means we function in a 28 day (approx.) cycle, yet we are made to feel bad that we don’t feel the same every single day.

Our body’s cyclical nature is our superpower. When we shift our focus from trying to keep up, to listening to our body’s needs and abilities we are able to achieve so much more.

We do our best work and our best play when we are rested and fulfilled, and for that resting and inner energy work is an essential part of the cycle of our productivity. It’s when we are at our most aligned and vitalised…

Planning With Intention

Do you think about the intention of your week/month before you start planning?

Intentions are the power and strength of our convictions and beliefs. The direction behind our actions, the compass that should guide us 🧭

When we place our intentions behind the way we work, play, and spend our time we give those actions meaning. Intention makes sure you are always moving in the right direction. It makes work tasks count towards your goals, cuts out the busy work, and creates space for playfulness and creativity…

But Intention is just a word if you don’t know either what your intentions are, or how to go about implementing them and using them as you go about your life, and days.

My Seasonal journalling prompts can offer more guidance around setting seasonal intentions, and getting to know the beliefs and vision you have for your life that can guide your intention AND my Seasonal Alchemy workbook (coming soon) offers a whole planning system around the seasons and cycles of nature and the moon to help you plan and live with intention.

You can also ask yourself some simple questions before you start planning your week and breaking your goals down into actionable steps, use these five questions to help you focus on what’s important and what isn’t, ensure that your task list is moving you towards the goals and dreams you have for yourself, and that you are building a schedule that brings a balance of work, rest, and play into your week to ensure you can be the best version of yourself.

Before you start planning out your next week think about these things first:

We do our best work and our best play when we are rested and fulfilled, and for that resting and inner energy work is an essential part of the cycle of our productivity.

How do you what the week to feel?

What’s your intention for the week?
